In this experiential learning session, participants will explore multicultural narratives about women leaders influencing their community culture. Applying a provided narrative building template, the participants will identify the dilemma the leader faced in the story and evaluate the cultural values being questioned. During the session, facilitators will briefly share their grounded theory developed based on qualitative research of over 50 such narratives about women across the globe. After group discussions related to the findings, participants will be asked to review three identified narratives about changemakers and their influence on community culture. While dissecting the story using the narrative building template, participants may question their perspectives and expectations. Through critical reflection time in breakout rooms, facilitators will support inquiry and prompt the participants to consider the shifting cultural values based on the leaders' journeys. Participants will be asked to share their narrative highlights, which will be supported by discussing the insights from a transformative learning lens. In close, the participants will be reflecting and exploring the possibilities of a collective transformative learning experience. The participants will be provided the narrative building template as a tool to experiment with in their own learning environments.
