Practices of an International Virtual Learning Community: A Story of Holistic Authentic Connection
In this session, we model a virtual learning community that emerged from a 2017 planning committee for the 2018 International Transformative Learning Conference. With listening at the center, we suggest that community can be created and nurtured across differences, locations, and disciplines to produce academic work and provide support for an individual sense of belonging and wholeness. In this session we tell our story, describe key elements discerned from our process, and engage with participants to practice a similar learning community experience. We deliberately focus on transformative group processes and listening as well as transformative listening.
